Description

Stellina observation: 2023-07-20, 21:59 PDT – 2023-07-21, 03:00 PDT, 1590 jpegs stacked, 1628 fits lights and 100 each darks captured. I intend to stack fits when I have at least one more night of data. PixInsight Automatic Background Extractor and Dynamic Background Extraction don’t seem to work as well on tiffs, and the APP and PixInsight stacks of fits produce better results near the edge of the field of view than the Stellina tiff does. This is especially helpful when a target nearly fills the fov. For now, I edited the first night’s tiff in PixInsight and Photoshop. I also used a touch of Blanshan’s color mask PixelMath expressions for the first time.
